Elly Plooij- van Gorsel Participates on fact finding mission to US policy makers and captains of industry

Elly Plooij- van Gorsel (MEP, ELDR) will participate in a Transatlantic Policy Network (TPN) fact finding mission to the US from July 13 to July 18. The kick-off will be in Seattle where Plooij will visit Microsoft headquarters to discuss Intellectual Property rights, Patent law and Data Protection.
The visit will continue in Washington D.C. where Elly Plooij will meet Ambassador Robert Zoellick (United States Trade Representative) and Vice- President Dick Cheney. The discussions with Zoellick will amongst others focus on WTO negotiations in the framework of the Doha Development Agenda, as Elly Plooij will be an EU delegate during the WTO Ministerial Conference in September in Cancùn (Mexico).

Furthermore, Plooij will discuss security in cyberspace issues with representatives of CERT Coordination Centre, an Internet Security Agency. These talks relate to Elly Plooij's activities in the European Parliament around the establishment of a Network and Information Security Agency in the EU.
